Our Dive Centre
Walk from the dive centre straight into the water for a relaxing dive on our fabulous house reef by day or night. On your return you can rinse your gear and take a shower. Afterwards retire to the lounge to talk about what you saw and to look it up at one of the many marine lifes books. We have a well equipped classroom for all the courses we offer, but prefer teaching on one of our terraces.
Dive schedule
Every evening we plan a variety of dives for the next day and write them up on the board. There are usually three boat dives and a nightdive. The dive sites are relative close by (maximum 20 minutes by boat) so we often come back to the dive centre between dives unless we're doing a double dive.
Double dive
For double dives we leave at 9am so that we can be underwater by at 9:30. After that we go to a beautiful white sandy beach to have our break. Around 11:30 we do the second dive so that we're back at the resort in time for lunch.
Dive planning
1ts dive: 9am, depart dive centre for a double dive. You're back in time for the lunch at 1pm
3rd dive: 3pm, depart dive centre
Nightdive: 6:30pm
Transport
We have two traditional banka dive boats to take us to the dive sites, including Pescador Island. They were built locally especially for us here at Magic Island.
Safety plan
Safety is important at Magic Island Dive Resort. As well as the standard rules for safe diving we also have our own safety plan. As well as the usual first aid kit, we also have oxygen and, in case the unexpected should happen, there is a decompression chamber available at the VASCOM Hospital in Cebu.
